This Concept is a systematic statement of approaches to the goals, objectives, principles and main directions of the development of the national cultural space of the Republic of Belarus.
The development of the national cultural space is aimed at preserving the historical memory of the Belarusian people, its national and cultural identity, the realization of the intellectual and creative potential of the nation, the active involvement of citizens in the cultural life of the country while preserving cultural diversity and openness to the results of the creative activity of other peoples, the best examples of world culture, which are of important social and cultural significance, are of a highly artistic and moral nature.
Culture is regarded as one of the main factors in the identity of the Belarusian people, the continuity of generations, and the basis for the formation and development of the individual and society. The State ensures the priority development of Belarusian national culture, the revival, preservation and development of national cultural traditions, and the use, dissemination and popularization of national cultural values. The Belarusian language is recognized as one of the factors in shaping the national mentality.
